Isabel Castillo Cortes holds a law degree from the Centro de Estudios Universitarios del Norte (CEUN-Mexico), a master’s degree in Latin American Literature from New Mexico State University (NMSU), and a PhD in Philosophy with a focus on Spanish from Texas Tech University (TTU). During her time at NMSU and TTU, she served as a Spanish instructor, teaching classes in Spanish as a Second Language within programs catering to L2, Heritage Speakers, and Study Abroad initiatives in Spain. Additionally, she has held the position of president at SIGMA DELTA PI and has contributed to academic and literary publications such as Céfiro and Arenas Blancas. Her primary research interests encompass cultural, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary studies. Presently, she delves into the literature surrounding drug trafficking, examining its intermediation and influence on the psychology of the masses. Outside academia, she finds joy in traveling, photography, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She indulges in creative writing, poetry, and theater, reflecting her passion for the arts.
